That’s all for today, I hope you all will continue to check out and enjoy my posts on the AutoCAD Blog, they have been a ton of fun to work on and I’m excited for more posts to come. I use these scale bars on almost all of my projects and I think these will be a game-changer if you can include them in your future workflows.Ĭheck out the full article here to learn more: Īnd don’t forget to watch the accompanying tutorial video below: This one can be a huge lifesaver and timesaver when drafting when you need to make a change to a sheets’ scale.

Doing this will keep your scalebar always set correctly, regardless of if you change up the scale of your viewport. In the post, we will walk through exactly how to insert a dynamic scale bar that can be linked and update automatically based on your viewport scale in the AutoCAD Map 3D toolset. In today post and video, I get to share another great feature from the Map 3D Toolset that is now included with the AutoCAD Subscription. You can see the full list of my articles on the AutoCAD Blog here, like the last post How to Link a North Arrow to a Viewport or check out the videos on my channel here: /c/cadintentions. In case you are new to the site or needed a refresher, earlier this year I partnered with the AutoCAD Blog to produce some of my favourite CAD Tips as Tuesday Tip articles along with an accompanying Two Minute Tuesday Video that gets posted to my youtube channel. The AutoCAD Architecture content includes a Bar Scale tool in the Stock Tool Catalog, in the Drafting Tools category. Its that time of the week again and that means I’ve got another Tuesday Tip x 2 Minute Tuesday post to share with you all. The imperial version does not appear to have architectural scales built into it, just 1" = some distance, but perhaps you are using metric units or need to show imperial "engineering" scales. The Annotate palette has sample content for both Imperial and Metric units, and each subset includes a Graphic Scale tool that inserts a Dynamic Block representing a graphic scale. You may have to type TOOLPALETTES at the command line and then press the ENTER key to turn on the display of the toolpalettes, if they are not already open. With an "as AutoCAD" profile current, you should get the vanilla AutoCAD sample palettes.

If you do not have such a profile, creating a new profile on the Profiles tab of the Options dialog, and then selecting it and selecting the Reset button will create an "as AutoCAD" profile. The exact name may vary, depending upon the content you installed and where you are located. When the program was installed, If you chose to create a profile to run AutoCAD Architecture "as AutoCAD", then you should have an AutoCAD profile, and, possibly a desktop shortcut labeled something like AutoCAD Architecture 2015 - English as AutoCAD that will start the program using that profile.

That tool is part of the AutoCAD content, not the AutoCAD Architecture content.
